Call it the “me too” mentality or jumping on the bandwagon, but I was recently motivated to finally start a blog. Several connections in my life either recently revealed they had been blogging all along or were just starting. It made me think about my past unrealized ambitions to blog. Why hadn’t I? Glad you ask, because I have a slew of why-nots: no thrilling topics, nothing really to say, no one to read it, no time to write, fear of exposure, fear of failing, fear of saying the wrong thing. As I sat there recounting to myself all the reasons why I couldn’t do it, I felt ridiculous. None of those things felt like remotely valid reasons not to share my thoughts and experiences. Actually, a few of them (see fears above) were exactly why I should do it. And so the grand unifying theme for my blog was born - goBE. I needed to stop second-guessing, stop listing why-nots, and just go BE! Go be an engaged, active participant in life - successes and mishaps included.
You’ll likely find a lot here about running, mountain biking, baking, minimalism, and hopefully, travel. But it probably won’t stop there. Writing is one way I can reflect on lessons learned. Hopefully, I’ll help others. I can’t say for sure where I’ll take this. I can’t say for sure where blogging will take me. I can’t say for sure that I’ll have more than one post.
But today I’m not going to worry about it; I will just goBlog!
Congrats on your 1st post! :-)
